Nursery Tap Hip to Toe Volume Two is the newest Title in the Peabody Award-Winning ‘Nursery Tap, Hip to Toe™’ Children’s DVD Series.

Dancing along on the heels of the widely successful premiere DVD release Nursery Tap, Hip to Toe™ Volume One – the first children’s DVD to ever win the prestigious George Foster Peabody Award – comes the second title in the series, Nursery Tap, Hip to Toe Volume Two, available nationwide July 25, 2006.

The Nursery Tap, Hip to Toe series of DVDs, created and co-choreographed by producer-director-actress Juleen Murray Shaw, is a charming, challenging and unique presentation of sights, sounds, rhythm, storytelling, dance and song designed to introduce the Mother Goose set to the enjoyment and wonder of the performing arts. Burgeoning young actors and dancers will be enchanted by the theatrical staging and performance of rhymes while simultaneously learning the basics of the major dance disciplines tap and ballet.

Nursery Tap, Hip to Toe Volume Two features a collection of classic nursery rhymes, 28 in all, each playfully voiced by Shaw and Brynn Bromley, a young Los Angeles actress, and set to its own vignette. Dancers, dressed in bright, bold costumes, are featured from the waist down so even the youngest of viewers can focus on the rhythmic movements without facial distractions. It is approximately 33 minutes and will be available for a suggested retail price of $19.95, which includes a free companion soundtrack CD.

Viewers will be amazed at how much emotion is portrayed just through the legs and feet. When dances include two performers, each conveys a specific personality while creating a harmonious, entertaining synergy. Each rhyme has its own distinctive voice and cadence and specific dance movements clearly reflect such. “Eeny-Meeny-Miny-Moe” and “Good Day Pretty Rosina” have stronger inflections – the former a teasing tone, the latter a temper tantrum – so the more forceful of tap steps like stomps and shuffles are performed. Softer rhymes like “Hush Little Baby” include the gentle sweeps and points of ballet. Beautiful costumes help complete the voice of each piece.

Other popular rhymes brought to life through the grace of ballet include “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” and “Mary Had a Little Lamb.” Through the pep of tap come such favorites as “Hickory-Dickory-Doc,” “Hey Diddle Diddle” and “Fiddle Dee Dee.” Be the dances playful or refined, sweet or sassy, children will delight in the many facets of this enchanting video.

Special features on Nursery Tap, Hip to Toe Volume Two include instruction of basic tap and ballet steps, repeat play and chapter selections.

Nursery Tap, Hip to Toe Volume One was one of the most honored children’s DVDs of 2005. Besides the Peabody, the DVD received the Oppenheim toy Portfolio Gold Seal Award, Parent’s Choice Award, Dr. Toy’s Best Smart Play/Best Toy Products award, iParenting Media’s Best Products award, a KIDS FIRST! endorsement, Dove Foundation’s Seal of Approval (Highest Rating, 5 Doves) and the Telly Bronze Award.
