Business District (http://www.businessdistrict.com), a new Internet-based business listing and transaction service, launches interactive Web site, connecting business buyers and sellers; streamlines transaction and financing process.

Business District (http://www.businessdistrict.com), a new Internet-based business listing and transaction service is anticipating the exchange of approximately 8.4 million companies over the next 10-to-15 years. Many of these private businesses are owned by the 76 million Baby Boomers approaching retirement.

Cary Daniel, the company’s chairman & CEO, said that the Baby Boomers have controlled about half of the U.S. market with privately owned companies for years, and now it’s time for them to sell. “There are about 12 million privately owned businesses in the U.S., and one out of every two will go up for sale over the next decade or so, according to market research. As boomers move into retirement mode, they will most likely sell their companies, and we are ready to help them expedite this process,” explained Daniel.

But Business District isn’t just for sellers. Buyers, most likely Generation X’ers, who are ready to own their own companies, will also benefit from the site. “Not only are Generation Xer’s the likely buyers, but they prefer to research online for virtually everything,” said Daniel. “Our Web site will surpass traditional business listing services, and will actually enable consumers to conduct their entire transaction process, including financing, through the Business District site.”

By securely managing transactions, users will have access to online contracts and other forms from any computer with Internet access and Adobe Acrobat Reader. Additionally, the site features an up-to-date listing of companies for sale; a collaborative portal, known as the BizPortal, designed to seamlessly connect all data, documents and processes involved in a business sale transaction; a transaction management system; and a digital-signing solution. Business District is currently developing an integrated Transaction Management System (TMS), Web-based software that provides online status reports, while simultaneously managing, tracking and archiving every transaction.
