The 8th Annual Malibu International Film Festival Seeks Submissions For 2007 Festival

The 8th Annual Malibu International Film Festival, scheduled to take place, April 13 - 16, 2007 in Malibu, California, officially launched its call for entries today.

(PRWEB) July 8, 2006 -- The 8th Annual Malibu International Film Festival, scheduled to take place, April 13 - 16, 2007 in Malibu, California, officially launched its call for entries today. “We are currently accepting short, feature and documentary film submissions in all genres for the 8th edition of the festival,” David Katz, Festival Director announced today. “Malibu focuses on premiering true independent films without domestic theatrical distribution.” Malibu will screen about 100 films in 2007.

The 2006 festival received over 2,000 submissions from all over the world.

Entry forms and application information are available through the
Malibu Film Festival website: www.MalibuFilmFestival.com. All film selections will be posted on the 2007 festival page during the second week of February.

Sponsors of the 2006 Malibu Film Festival included SWT, Gladstone’s Malibu, Jaguar Cars, Maui & Sons, IndieVest, Classic Party Rentals, 20th Century Props, Disc Makers, Charter Communications, Adelpia, MS&K, Malibu Chronicle, Graphic Weekly, Canyon News, Santa Monica Daily Press, Santa Monica Mirror, Malibu Magazine & LA Weekly. 2007 sponsors will be announced as they are confirmed.

Deadlines:
Early: $55 All Submissions (Postmarked by 08/15/06)
Regular: $65 All Submissions (Postmarked by 10/15/06)
Late: $75 All Submissions (At Festival office by 12/15/06)                            
Final: $100 All Submissions (At Festival office by 01/15/07)

As a year round organization, Malibu Film Festival serves as a stepping stone for emerging filmmakers. Started in 1997 by Malibu local filmmaker David Katz, Malibu Film Festival continues to be organized and programmed “by independent filmmakers.” The annual Festival has been headquartered in scenic Malibu California since 1999. Malibu has established a unique reputation for premiering independent films.
