Evergreen Systems today announced that it will be exploring the topic of building a business case for ITIL in a series of web based venues throughout the summer. CEO, Don Casson, began exploration of the topic in June, via a webinar that was sponsored jointly by Hewlett-Packard and InformationWeek. The TechWebcast provided a top down review of ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) best practices and explored how change management translates into business value. Yesterday Vice President of Consulting, Joe Koester, began a four part series of blog postings exploring the same topic, focusing on ROI for ITIL, potential savings and business objectives for implementation, and asking for examples from others on models that have ‘sold’ successfully to IT executive management.

During July CEO Don Casson will continue developing the business value of ITIL discussion with a white paper that will identify specific ‘pain points’ in IT, link them to ITIL based solutions, and explore how to calculate the value of implementing those solutions, through incident management, change management, CMDB and service management. Metrics will be explored for driving productivity up and workload down for IT, and reclaiming resources for strategic project development. The white paper will be offered on Evergreen System’s web site, promoted in the ITSMF July journal and provided via a special offer for IT executives in Fortune 1000 enterprises.
