Renate’s From The Promised Land to the Lucky Country chronicles her amazing life; from leaving Nazi Germany in 1933 to her journeys through Israel, America, and Australia
Queensland, Australia (PRWEB) July 9, 2006 -- In her spellbinding story, From The Promised Land to the Lucky Country, Renate gives both an important historical record and a heartfelt chronicle of her exciting life. After leaving Germany as a toddler, her path goes hand in hand with the redevelopment of Jewish life, under the British mandate, in the Land of Israel. In this brave new country, she experiences life on the kibbutz and bears witness to Israel’s new statehood.
Economic necessities find the newly married Renate in Australia. Here life is very different. There are new ways to learn, new experiences and challenges to conquer. Yet, this is not enough. Renate and her young family take off, once again, this time to Midwest America. But that’s not the end of her travels!
Renate give readers an intimate look into the incredible historical and personal journey of her life. Through her passionate writing, all will experience with her what it’s like to live in a community that aspires to statehood and eventually becomes the new state of Israel, as well as the terror of being separated from her children during Israel’s infamous Yom Kippur War. She also shares accounts of her home and professional life, with her stranger-than-fiction experiences in court, her work in a chiropractic clinic, her adventures building a 64 ft. yacht, as well as of a home filled with 11 Alsatian pups.
Filled with wonderful poems and photographs, this moving, funny, four-part autobiography is a testament to the spirit of those who are bold and brave enough to start new lives.
