eSnips Launches The eSnips Marketplace

Going beyond sharing to enable members to sell their creations.

(PRWEB) July 10, 2006 -- eSnips, the one free place on the Web for all your online sharing needs, today announced support for ecommerce transactions. Members who have used eSnips to share and showcase their hobbies, interests and creative work, can now sell these items. Since the feature was introduced in June, users have posted everything from oil paintings to chill-out music, computer games, handmade jewelry, and even pets for sale on their eSnips sites.

“Canadian artist Jane Rusin of the d'avi gallery was one of the first artists to adopt the marketplace. "I was totally surprised by the simplicity and cleanliness of the interface, the color scheme is wonderful and the entire feeling is that you are sharing your universe with universally talented people. Using the Marketplace is simple, intuitive and you have entire control of the content. Uploading your pictures takes seconds and the space offered for free is quite impressive. It is truly about sharing the beauty in you."

"The traffic is amazing and I never got so many visitors in such a short period on any other web site," adds Rusin. "I am a well versed on-line art seller and I can honestly say that I love my beginning on eSnips Marketplace. Looking forward to higher accomplishments and be part of the eSnips experience many years from now."

"Adding transaction capabilities makes sense for our users," said Yael Elish, CEO and founder of eSnips. "We started seeing that visitors left comments for each other asking if a particular item was for sale, and if so for how much. From that point it was clear that we could help our members and facilitate sales.”

Selling on eSnips is as easy as designating a particular folder as containing items ‘for sale’ and setting up an account on PayPal to receive payments. The marketplace feels like an on online street fair,” said Elish, “where members can sell anything original. We want eSnips to be the online home for artists, musicians, designers and anyone with a real passion!”
