Kaliber Films proudly announces the acquisition of ROLLER BABES, a novel by D. M. Bordner (a.k.a. Tim Patten), set in America circa 1950s, women's roller derby.

Kaliber president, Laurence N. Kaldor, said, "We're seeking to put together a team of interested talent because, when the story is told appropriately (non-exploitative) it potentially can be as compelling as A LEAGUE OF THEIR OWN, another film about women in a men's-sports world. Also, the Roller Derby has long been a part of American popular culture. I think we can do for roller derby what BULL DURHAM or BAD NEWS BEARS did for baseball," he added

"The ROLLER BABES setting and topic on roller derby make it the type of story has American Classic written all over it. Roller derby is hot. Everything from the novels historical point of view to the engaging characters will resonate with millions," one reviewer said.
