IBF Conferences Inc., (International Business Forum) and BioEnterprise Announce the Launch of the Global Healthcare Investing Conference
IBF Conferences, Inc., the leading national investment conference organizer, and BioEnterprise, a Cleveland-based bioscience business formation, recruitment, and acceleration initiative, are partnering to create a first-of-kind health care venture investing conference.
Massepequa, NY and Cleveland, OH (PRWEB) July 12, 2006 -- IBF Conferences, Inc., the leading national investment conference organizer, and BioEnterprise, a Cleveland-based bioscience business formation, recruitment, and acceleration initiative, are partnering to create a first-of-kind health care venture investing conference.
Called “Globalization of Healthcare Investing,” the conference will be the first venture event for investors and entrepreneurs to discuss trends and share experiences in the emerging area of international health care start-ups. Topics to be addressed will include sourcing health care technologies globally, managing investments in and operations of "global start-ups,” raising investment capital overseas, and operating in multiple financial and regulatory markets.
The forum is geared specifically to US and international venture funds and entrepreneurs of emerging bioscience companies. The event will be held June 20-21, 2007 in Cleveland, Ohio, and is expected to draw 300-400 attendees.
“We are excited to bring together the leading-edge practitioners to share ideas in this new area for health care investors,” said IBF Conferences President & CEO Alexandra Scott. “Cleveland is the right location for this event given its prominence in health care investment with the region’s many players already ‘going global’ to partner with start-ups. We are extremely pleased to partner with BioEnterprise to present this event given their success in working with global start-ups.”
Scott cited the existence of many community initiatives in Cleveland that are focused on recruiting emerging technology companies from overseas. As an example, the BioEnterprise Initiative has already attracted nine, venture-funded start-up companies from overseas locations such as Israel, Russia and Japan to co-locate in Greater Cleveland.
“While other high-technology sectors are already global for start-ups, ‘going global’ in healthcare investing is still in its early stages,” said BioEnterprise President Baiju R. Shah. “We are pleased to co-host this event with IBF given their leadership in organizing venture investment gatherings internationally.”
The conference will also include a company showcase featuring 15-20 venture-backed healthcare companies from abroad that are looking for Series B or later investment rounds.
