Princess Sumaya University for Technology Celebrates the Graduation of its 12th Class of Students.

Amman, Jordan (PRWEB) July 13, 2006 -- Under the Patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Sumaya Bint El-Hasan, head of the Princess Sumaya University for Technology (PSUT)’s Board of Trustees, PSUT held its 12th graduation ceremony last week.

The event was attended by the Minister of Education, Higher Education and Scientific Research, Professor Khaled Toukan, a number of government officials, members of the Diplomatic Missions, President of PSUT Professor Hisham Ghassib, members of the university’s faculty, its administration, and its student body, as well as the proud families of graduating students.

During the event’s proceedings, an acknowledgement of 170 university students was made, all of whom have successfully completed all the requirements needed for them to obtain degrees in Computer Science, and Electronic Engineering during the academic year of 2005 and 2006.

This year, the ceremony coincides with PSUT’s 15th anniversary celebrations. It also celebrates PSUT’s first class of Computer Engineering graduates.

In light of this joyous occasion, Princess Sumaya Bint El-Hasan congratulated PSUT’s graduates, and expressed in an emphatic speech her desire to see the graduates of today become the leaders of tomorrow.

“Embrace your country and your economy as they embraced you over the years, for they both deserve your support and your input. Keep your university in your hearts and your minds, for PSUT also deserves your loyalty. Over the past years, PSUT has provided you with the tools of knowledge you need to stand out in a market filled with challenges. Your success is our pride, and we, the university’s faculty and its administration, have great confidence in you, for within your hearts and your minds you have the power to take your country and your economy forward” she said.

From his end, Professor Hisham Ghassib added "PSUT stands out amongst its peers within the Jordanian educational arena through the serious educational program it provides. Through the high standards it sets for its students and its faculty, it moulds young minds so that they are armed to compete effectively within local regional and international markets."

Speaking on behalf of PSUT’s graduates, Mr. Hussam Odeh, from the university’s student body, thanked the faculty and administration for the efforts, and the sincere interest they took in their students’ futures, “We graduate from PSUT today with the will and the determination to steer our country forward towards further development. We wouldn’t have been able to stand here today if it wasn’t for the determination of our university and its faculty who provided us with the perfect educational program over the years, which in turn allowed us to excel. PSUT’s confidence in us has been our motivation and we wish to give back to our community in the same way that it has given to us" he said.

Since its establishment in 1991, this learning institution set out to be a center of excellence. It achieved its goal by distinguishing itself as the only learning institution in the country to specialize in offering educational programs relevant to the Technology and Communication fields. Its graduates have always managed to stand out in the local and regional job markets since they, and through their strong educational background, have been fully equipped with the tools they need to satisfy the demands of a market filled with competition and ongoing change.
