Sim Dynasty Announces Exciting Changes for Next Season in Its Online Baseball Simulation

The highlights include added statistics, improved all star and award tracking, and improved site performance.

Minneapolis, MN (PRWEB) July 13, 2006 -- As the Major League Baseball schedule pauses for All-Star festivities, SimDynasty.com owners pause for a different sort of a break. Dynasty League World Series play finished Sunday; and, this week players can look forward to not just a new round of amateur draftees, but also a fresh round of enhancements to the Sim Dynasty game.

The focus of the major changes were on improving site and server performance, however, in the process a number of areas were enhanced based on user feedback.

Statistics-lovers will find their players now may be tracked separately versus right and left-handed pitching. These statistics and others are also now available directly from the line-up and rotation pages, allowing roster changes based on statistics without any additional page surfing. And, of course, these stats are also available on Sim Dynasty’s comprehensive player cards.

While reworking the all-star page’s performance, formulas were added which allowed for more equality between pitchers and hitters in Rookie of the Year awards as well as more closely emulating MLB formula for the Fireman Award, Bill James’ formula for the Cy Young, and giving MVP candidates higher vote totals based on their team’s standing in the league. All-stars will also be voted onto the squad based on actual in-season appearances in a position rather than primary position.

At the core of the all-star changes is a desire to increase site performance and to pave the way for future upgrades to the all-star system. Similarly, the news section was upgraded to enable sections on player cards as well as on the main News page without additional strain on the server.

Experienced owners will also want to take a look at the extensive list of fixes and tweaks that were brought over to respond to user-feedback from past major additions. For instance, the recent restrictions added to prevent mismanagement of relievers as starters has been repealed for playoff teams to allow greater flexibility in pitching strategy for post-season play.

Sign-ups for dynasty and free single season leagues continue this week as returning teams finalize draft lists and make off-season transactions. These leagues will begin regular season play on Sunday, July 16th. Private and speed leagues will experience these upgrades as well and there are some opportunities for new players in these faster and ongoing leagues.

About Sim Dynasty: http://www.SimDynasty.com
Sim Dynasty provides two unique online baseball games for its enthusiasts, Fantasy Baseball and Sim Leagues. The Sim Leagues are a multiplayer online baseball simulation set in the "Golden Age" of baseball, before player and owner greed, huge television contracts and free agency changed Major League Baseball from one of manager skill and civic pride into something more focused on money. With more than 3,000 teams, Sim Dynasty is one of the most successful simulations on the market today.

It encourages fans to build a community and nurture their teams and players over many years, not just focus on a single season. As a result, players must think both strategically and creatively as they select draft choices and train them, so they may one day be leading players in the league. Even the off season is important to the game as a time to trade players, allow younger players improve their skills and older ones retire.

Seasons last approximately two months and team owners pay dues of $10.95 per season or $54.50 annually.
