Unfit Office Worker Takes on Toughest Mountain Biking Race in the Southern Hemisphere

An unfit office worker has decided to end his 10 year period of inactivity in a dramatic way by taking on the 2007 Karapoti Mountain Biking Race in New Zealand. This race is a gruelling 50km course over rugged terrain. A website has been set up to allow sponsorship and advertising at http://www.OfficeGuyGoesWild.com

Wellington, New Zealand (PRWEB) July 12, 2006 -- A New Zealand based office worker has decided to strike a blow against the tide of inactivity that is sweeping the nations. He is planning to enter the 2007 Karapoti Classic Mountain Bike race, which is held to be the toughest in the southern hemisphere. Known as "OfficeGuy" he says "I have 3 kids, and I want to be healthy and fit so I am around for a long time for them."

OfficeGuy like many other office workers has an inactive lifestyle, with the bulk of the working day sitting at an office chair. "I used to be more fit 10 years ago, but I have let things slide. I want to show people how to turn this around, in a dramatic way."

He has set up a website at http://www.OfficeGuyGoesWild.com in order to obtain sponsorship, which will be used to fund the mountain bike he will use in the race. Blocks of the bike picture at this site are for sale and will link to the purchasers' web site, as a form of advertising.

"Sales are coming in now, so I will soon get started on my training in earnest", says OfficeGuy.

The Karapoti Classic is scheduled for March 3 2007.
