Kilgore’s Mine Finder Looks for 4th Gold Discovery

Norm Burmeister is credited with three gold, or copper-gold, discoveries. He hopes to close out his long mine-finding career in Idaho on the Kilgore Gold property with a new high-grade gold discovery.

Sarasota, FL (PRWEB) July 13, 2006 -- Kilgore Minerals (TSX: KAU) Chief Executive Norm Burmeister is credited for discovering and founding the Bull Run gold mine in 1980. As Chief Geologist for Silver Standard Resources, he discovered the Mill Creek orebody, which was later sold to Freeport-McMoran. In a joint venture with Asarco, he helped find the Minto copper-gold orebody in the Yukon -- now in production through Sherwood Copper. Regarding a gold drilling program on his company’s latest venture in Idaho, Kilgore Minerals CEO Burmeister told StockInterview.com, “The best target has never been touched.”

According to the feature interview, which was published today on StockInterview.com, “Two years ago, Burmeister’s Kilgore Minerals encountered an encouraging intercept of 0.465 ounce per ton gold over 10 feet within a broader 170-foot zone of low-grade mineralization at 0.04 ounces per ton.” Burmeister believes this drill hole inspired the current drilling program. He believes, drilling which began earlier this week, could lead to a significant high-grade gold discovery on the company’s prospective gold property in Idaho.

Burmeister told StockInterview.com, “The high-grade zone, called the “Elsa Zone”, was intersected at a core depth of 410 feet. It is important to note that this hole was drilled in an area that had never been drilled some 4650 feet from the resource area.” He added, “There are no known workings in the area, and there is no known gold mineralization at the surface, thus making the Elsa Zone a true ‘blind discovery.’”
