The Progressive Radio Network Takes Off

Feisty Progressive Radio Network (PRN) earns huge listenership by refusing to underestimate the curiosity – or intelligence – of its audience.

Phoenix, AZ (PRWEB) July 17, 2006 – Thumbing its nose at “conventional wisdom,” an unorthodox new internet radio network has begun life with a big leap – and an even bigger gamble - Progressive Radio Network (www.progressiveradionetwork.org).

The gamble? Progressive Radio Network (PRN) is betting its entire bandwidth on the existence of a huge audience of thoughtful, intelligent, fair-minded listeners who have been vastly under-served by what is currently available on either regular or internet radio.

According to Gary Null, PRN’s most popular program host and 21-time Silver Microphone Award winner, these listeners “have been repelled by the dogmatism of the religious Right, embarrassed by the lukewarm platitudes of the ‘respectable’ Center, and disappointed by the self-righteous posturing of what is left of the Left.”

Dr. Null whose “Gary Null Show” is simultaneously broadcast on the VoiceAmerica™ Channel believes that internet radio listeners will welcome PRN’s edgy mix of “unfiltered” news and “tough truths” about politics, health, business, and the environment.

The Progressive Radio Network, broadcasting through Modavox, will also offer an adventurous mix of Arts and Culture unavailable either on regular or internet radio. Planned for the near future are live opera broadcasts from La Scala in Milan, hot New Orleans jazz by 85-year-old sidemen who can still blow the boots off upstarts half their age, rarely heard vintage broadcasts dating from radio’s Golden Days, featuring Jack Benny, The Shadow, Tom Mix, and the Lone Ranger, plus original plays and poetry performed by some of the world’s most renowned artists.

PRN’s proudest claim is its promise of absolute freedom from corporate influence. Its founders have made it clear that PRN will be non-commercial, and will not sell its air-time for advertising dollars.

PRN will broadcast 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, at www.ProgressiveRadioNetwork.org and provides live streaming, on-demand streaming, podcast, and archive downloading of cutting-edge information on health, music, politics and cultural affairs.
