Warner Books to Publish Book by Dream Job Expert and VocationVacations® Founder Brian Kurth

Book shows readers how to put their dreams of a career change into action.

Portland, OR (PRWEB) July 18, 2006 -- VocationVacations®, the only company of its kind letting people test-drive their dream jobs, announced today that Warner Business Books, an imprint of Warner Books, will publish a book by VocationVacations founder and president, Brian Kurth. Tentatively titled "Vocationing: A Roadmap to Your Dream Job," the book shows readers how to put their career and lifestyle dreams into action.

Kurth, a former Fortune 500 company executive, has committed his life to helping others pursue their vocational passions. He launched VocationVacations in January, 2004 with 10 VocationVacation holidays in Oregon. Today, the company offers more than 200 VocationVacation experiences across the United States, and Kurth is a sought-after speaker and expert media source on the topics of career change and dream jobs. Additionally, he is partnered with Brave Street Productions of New York as a co-executive producer of the Travel Channel series, This Job’s a Trip.

Vocationing reveals a proven, step-by-step process based on the common threads of hundreds of VocationVacations’ clients and mentors as well as other individuals who have pursued their passions. In addition to providing readers with a practical roadmap, the book includes inspiring real-life examples of those who have already blazed the dream job trail.

“Vocationing dispels the myth that you must be independently wealthy and/or free of family obligations to work your dream job and live the lifestyle it provides,” says Kurth, who notes that the people interviewed and profiled for the book come from all walks of life and circumstances. “While everyone’s journey is unique, those who are living their dream job have followed a similar ‘Vocationing’ process that anyone can apply to their own life.”

“We’re very excited to team with Brian on this book project as he and his company are revolutionizing the way people explore career change and development,” said Dan Ambrosio, associate editor at Warner Books.

The book deal was brokered by Mr. Kurth’s literary agent, Susan Golomb, of the Susan Golomb Agency headquartered in New York.

Warner Business Books is a division of the Hachette Book Group USA, which acquired the Time Warner Book Group in March, 2006.
