The Castle Group Expands Public Relations Practice with Hire of News Industry Veteran Bill Lane

The Castle Group has hired Bill Lane, a veteran reporter, editor and online journalist. Lane joined Castle from the Boston Business Journal, where he was managing editor since 2001.

The Castle Group, an independent, award-winning public relations and events management agency, announced today that Bill Lane has joined the firm. Lane, a veteran reporter, editor and online journalist, joined The Castle Group from the Boston Business Journal, where he was managing editor since 2001.

Lane brings to The Castle Group his close ties to technology, healthcare, financial services and professional services firms, both local and national, as well as a clear vision of effective communication strategies.

Lane joins The Castle Group as vice president, public relations. He will work with the agency’s clients to craft and implement communications and media relations strategies. He will also help grow the agency’s roster of dynamic, innovative client companies.

Lane draws on experience as a reporter that ranges from government and local affairs to business. He was business editor of the MetroWest Daily News and he supervised bureaus in six Northeastern cities for online business news Web site, in addition to his work as managing editor of the Boston Business Journal, the premier all-business newspaper in New England.

Lane, who lives in Boston, is co-author of two books and a former commercial pilot. He earned a bachelor’s degree in aeronautical science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
