The Castle Group has hired Bill Lane, a veteran reporter, editor and online journalist. Lane joined Castle from the Boston Business Journal, where he was managing editor since 2001.

He was business editor of the MetroWest Daily News and he supervised bureaus in six Northeastern cities for online business news Web site dBusiness.com, in addition to his work as managing editor of the Boston Business Journal, the premier all-business newspaper in New England.
Lane, who lives in Boston, is co-author of two books and a former commercial pilot. He earned a bachelor’s degree in aeronautical science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
