Sunset Beach, NC (PRWEB) July 19, 2006 -- Sea Trail Resort & Conference Center, located in Sunset Beach, N.C., has named Thomas Sullivan as its new director of culinary standards. He comes to Sea Trail after ten years as executive chef for the Blockade Runner Resort Hotel in Wrightsville Beach, N.C. where he directed the 150-seat restaurant and catered their 10,000 square foot banquet space.

Sullivan has more than 20 years of culinary and business experience. Before moving to the North Carolina coast he served as the executive chef for the Harvard Club in New York, N.Y., where he was called on to prepare food for special occasions such as weddings, christenings and Bar Mitzvahs. He also prepared meals for major events, including the U.S. Open Tennis Tournament.

“We are thrilled to add Thomas to our staff at Sea Trail,” said Chris Robertson, marketing coordinator for Sea Trail. “He is a very popular local chef who clearly understands the two markets -- local and tourist -- that we have in our area. Being at a local resort for a long period of time allowed him the opportunity to cook traditional seafood dishes for tourists looking for that Carolina fare, as well as give the locals an opportunity to enjoy new twists on their favorite dishes. He’s creative and personable and we anticipate that he will take Sea Trail’s culinary offerings for daily dining and conference dining to new levels.”

Sullivan holds an Associate Degree from the Culinary Institute Of America in Hyde Park, N.Y. and is a member of the American Culinary Foundation and Continuing Education course for “Serve Safe Food.” He and wife, Janet, live with their daughters, Katie, Maggie Rose, Marybeth and Hannah in Wilmington, N.C.

Sea Trail’s Magnolia restaurant is open to the public Mondays 6 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. and Tuesday through Sunday 6 a.m. until 9:30 p.m.
