The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) and ECNext announced the launch of a joint website today, featuring EIU’s comprehensive suite of global research and advisory services and ECNext’s search marketing expertise.

The site will be run and managed by ECNext and is built on ECNext’s proprietary content merchandising platform. The site will leverage ECNext’s expertise in search engine marketing which will drive the EIU (http://www.eiu.com) content set to be available to the growing number of executives who are in need of quick access to the latest business intelligence for their marketplace.

EIU provides a constant flow of analysis and forecasts on more than 200 countries and eight key industries. The co-branded site will feature country analysis and forecasts, risk assessments, economic and market data, industry trends and management strategies, each individually available for purchase.

The joint website opens up new revenue and marketing opportunities for EIU by extending its reach to professionals and executives through the web for the research they need. “Teaming up with ECNext is important to EIU because it enables us to capture new users and monetize the opportunity that the web presents,” said Lou Celi, Senior Vice President and Publishing Director, Economist Intelligence Unit. “ECNext guided us thru the process from prepping our content and making it Internet-ready, through pricing and packaging. We look forward to building a wider online audience and leveraging external search engines through this innovative initiative.”
