In being named to the Executive 100, the industry-leading magazine acknowledges both SLIM Technologies' innovative solution approaches and technologies used to solve complex supply chain problems for its clients.

Supply & Demand Chain Executive editorial team developed the list after evaluating hundreds of nominations. Solution providers were chosen based on their ability to address actual supply chain problems with innovative consulting services and/or technologies that yielded practical solutions. Specifically, SLIM Technologies was selected for its work in integrating supply chain design and inventory planning decisions.

SLIM Technologies innovative work was delivered to a Fortune 100 retailing client. Historically, companies have segregated supply chain network optimization and inventory deployment decisions, applying separate optimization tools and processes to each. In early 2005, as the SLIM Technologies' client was planning for rapid expansion of their distribution network, they were faced with both network design and inventory challenges that could not be separated from each other. Consequently, SLIM Technologies developed an innovative solution approach that used Systems Dynamics Modeling together with Mixed-Integer Programming to allow inventory deployment decisions to be embedded in network optimization models. The results of this approach were significant in shaping the direction of the client's distribution expansion plans, and also in enabling a low-cost distribution network with service levels that matched product characteristics and store requirements accordingly.
