The ON/AVN Support Group Int'l Association, Inc. (ONAVN SGIA, Inc.) announces its first AVN Family Day Picnic to be held on August 24 - August 26 at the beautiful Carpathian Village Center, Cresco, PA. Located in the Pocono Mountains, The Carpathian Village Center is run by the organization's own Chaplain, Fr. Michael Salnicky. He and his superiors are gracious enough to allow the organization the use of their facilities for the weekend.
Attendees will be the ON/AVN SGIA members, who hail from all over the country. This is going to be the group's first annual get-together, with the hope of running many more such events in the future.
The ON/AVN SGIA has been very busy with its fund drive to raise money for their research project at HSS, NY, NY. It is time for some fun and relaxation, as well as a chance for the members to meet each other.
Osteonecrosis just made world news as the disease suffered by Floyd Landis, of bicycling fame and The Tour de France race. The ON/AVN SGIA, Inc. was contacted on his behalf and is mentioned in the article on Mr. Landis that appeared in the NY Times Magazine on July 16th. Osteonecrosis, or more commonly known as Avascular necrosis, is a very serious and destructive bone disease wherein bones and joints die, often leaving victims of it with life-long disabilities and facing many surgeries.
The ON/AVN SGIA is the world's first and only registered patient support system for ON/AVN sufferers, and it can be contacted at The ON/AVN Support Group Int'l Association, Inc.
