Edward James Olmos & Tom Sizemore Thriller "SPLINTER" to Screen at Comic-Con San Diego; Olmos Scheduled to Attend

Legendary actor and Academy Award nominee Edward James Olmos (Battlestar Galactica) will make his first appearance at San Diego Comic Con 2006 in support of his son, Director Michael D. Olmos and his film SPLINTER, a Dark Horse Indie film. Olmos will appear alongside cast members Resminé Atis, Enrique Almeida, Noel G., and Diamond Dallas Page.

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) July 20, 2006 -- Legendary actor and Academy Award nominee Edward James Olmos will make his first appearance at San Diego Comic Con 2006 in support of his son, Director Michael D. Olmos and his film SPLINTER, a Dark Horse Indie film. Olmos will appear alongside cast members Resminé Atis, Enrique Almeida, Noel G., and Diamond Dallas Page.

SPLINTER, is an edgy urban tale of crime and corruption on the streets of L.A. The film portrays a battle of wills between gangs and cops in a neighborhood plagued by a psychotic killer.

Edward James Olmos (Battlestar Galactica, Miami Vice, Walk Out) first made heads turn acting in the stage play, Zoot Suit, and immediately afterwards in the film version of the play. He quickly became one of Hollywood’s most sought after Latino actors. With a supporting role in Miami Vice, to his highly acclaimed performance in Stand and Deliver, Olmos was quickly in high demand. He is currently starring in today’s critically acclaimed juggernaut Battlestar Galactica on the Sci Fi Channel. Olmos portrays Captain Garcia in Splinter.

Edward James Olmos is taking some time off from his busy schedule to make his first convention appearance ever in full support of his son, Michael D. Olmos, and his directorial debut Splinter.

“It’s such an honor to have Eddie on our team. He really raised the bar for everyone working on the film,” says Executive Producer Chris Tongue.

“This is not the typical role that my father appears in, and I think audiences and fans alike will love it. Edward James Olmos will be a part of the Dark Horse Indie Film Panel hosted by President/Publisher/Producer Mike Richardson on Saturday July 22, 2006 alongside Director Michael D. Olmos and the cast of Splinter including Resminé Atis, Enrique Almeida, Noel G., Hector Ruiz Atreyu, and Diamond Dallas Page.

Michael D. Olmos invites San Diego Comic Con attendees to the World Premiere screening of Splinter on Saturday July 22, 2006 alongside cast and crew.

Following Comic-Con, SPLINTER will screen in New York City on July 26th, where it is in competition at the NY Latino International Film Festival. Director Michael D. Olmos will be attending the festival, along with cast members Resminé Atis and Enrique Almeida.
