Stan Woodard’s Installation “I see no one, no one sees me” will be presented at Spruill Gallery from September 21 – November 4, 2006

Stan Woodard's website, www.stanwoodard.com, has been updated to offer a more user friendly experience, as well as providing information about current and past activities.

Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) July 23, 2006 -- Atlanta based artist Stan has launched an updated website to offer a more user friendly experience, and to provide more information regarding current and past activities. Woodard's website can be found at www.stanwoodard.com

Stan Woodard is an artist living and working in Atlanta, GA. He works primarily with found materials to create installations and objects. Multimedia regularly figures into his installation work and he produces stand-alone multimedia, video, audio, and interactive digital works as well. Taking an archaeological approach to found materials he often comments on the histories of places and objects. Woodard is a recipient of the KBFUS (King Baudouin Fellowship US) award. Woodard has been exhibited in Atlanta, New York, Hong Kong and regionally.

About his work, Woodard has said, "Inspiration gained through exploring my post industrial neighborhood founded my work using discarded and recycled material in the creation of artwork. Believing that every debris object has a history as unique as each of our own, I chose items which had appealing formal qualities apart from that of other urban detritus. These objects were originally manufactured to serve a particular purpose and at some point were lost or deemed no longer relevant. By aestheticizing debris objects, each of them having passed through cycles of real and perceived value, I redefine their meanings."

Future exhibitions include the upcoming "Pin up Show #4" at City Gallery East in Atlanta. Woodard will create a site specific installation of paper and light. This ephemeral work will be a bit of a departure from work presented by other Pinup Show artists. Using complimentary and contrasting colored light, paper, and shadows, the installation will address issues of visual inconstancy, and will offer a meditative experince for gallery visitors. The City Gallery East "Pin Up Show #4" will open on March 21, 2008 and run though April 25. City Gallery East is located at 675 Ponce de Leon Avenue, N.E. in Atlanta, Georgia, United States.
