Learn.com®, the global leader in creating and projecting power-on-demand, today announced the immediate availability of the newly released CourseMaker®Studio 3.8, the fastest and easiest way to create multi-media standards compliant courseware. This highly anticipated release marks the second major CourseMaker Studio release of 2006.

“CourseMaker Studio 3.8 features many client requested enhancements,” said David Swenson, Executive Director of Product Development at Learn.com. “We strive to make CourseMaker Studio the most complete and user friendly authoring suite on the market and this new version continues that trend. The upgrades and enhancements found in this new version greatly increase the capabilities of the already robust software.”

“With the addition of full SCORM 2004 compliant output, CourseMaker Studio 3.8 developers can take full advantage of the tracking capabilities found in SCORM compliant Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Learn.com’s award-winning LearnCenter Learning and Performance Management Suite. This feature also enables authors to take advantage of SCO Publishing introduced in CourseMaker Studio 3.6 in December 2005. The SCO Publishing feature enables an author to publish a course as a series of individual SCOs. Each topic in the course will appear to an LMS as an individual SCO and can be managed individually by the Learning Management System,” said Swenson.

“CourseMaker Studio 3.8 also includes full support for publishing Section 508 (Section 508 of the US Rehabilitation Act), compliant courses. This option publishes 508 compliant HTML courses that can be read by screen reader software for visually impaired users. These HTML courses replicate the structure of the full multimedia course, including assessment and scoring,” added Swenson.

"As one of the largest privately held real estate companies in the United States, Weichert has to pick providers very carefully. Over the past two years, Learn.com has been a true collaborator in every sense of the word. Their LearnCenter LMS/LCMS and CourseMaker Studio authoring tool have functioned beyond our expectations, and the products continue to stay user-friendly, as they get more robust with every new release. In just 1 1/2 years, our associates and employees have collectively completed nearly 75,000 courses, making our e-learning initiative a great success," said Kimberly Bahn, Director of Operations and Infrastructure at Weichert University.
