GEOCOMtms offers the only fully integrated fleet management system that connects mobile applications and tracking applications with route planning, trucking dispatch, and fleet maintenance
Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) July 23, 2006
GEOCOMtms, a global provider of fleet management solutions for local pickup and delivery, announced today the delivery of A.MAZE Foundation™, an advanced integration platform that makes it possible to quickly and easily connect the company’s fleet management system with other third-party software. The technology is being offered as a standard component of all GEOCOMtms applications.
“One of the biggest challenges that companies face when implementing new applications is trying to integrate them with existing systems,” said Michael Nark, president and chief executive officer of GEOCOMtms. “The ability to connect A.MAZE Fleet Management with other solutions the customer depends on significantly enhances the value of their technology investments. For the first time, an organization can get a unified view of their order-to-cash cycle, which means unprecedented control of what is happening in the business.”
A.MAZE Foundation is an integration platform that enables multiple applications to share information and functionality across an enterprise. The platform leverages Microsoft’s .Net framework and COM+ technology to provide a unified service that interacts directly with other A.MAZE Fleet Management services. External applications can be coupled to this platform, making it possible to exchange information between the two systems. This approach eliminates the need to develop custom APIs for each application, a time consuming and error prone activity, while also ensuring data integrity within the central A.MAZE database.
An example scenario for using A.MAZE Foundation would be a customer that wants to integrate A.MAZE Planning with a third-party GPS tracking solution in order to get a real-time view of driver performance. In most cases, this is extremely difficult. A.MAZE Foundation overcomes the obstacles, opening up the route planning application to receive continuous data feeds, such as latitude and longitude coordinates, from the fleet tracking application. This information can then be displayed on a single map, along with the planned route, giving the dispatcher a clear picture of where each driver is in relationship to his assigned stops.
Another example is an organization that wants to take advantage of electronic signature capture functionality within A.MAZE Mobile to help minimize customer billing disputes and speed payment. The mobile field service application can be integrated with the company’s accounting system via A.MAZE Foundation so that signatures captured in the field can be kept on file and associated with a specific order and delivery quantity. This process can also trigger automatic customer invoicing.
“GEOCOMtms offers the only fully integrated fleet management system that connects mobile applications and tracking applications with route planning, trucking dispatch, and fleet maintenance,” said Serge Massicotte, GEOCOMtms Director of Product Management & Development. “We originally developed A.MAZE Foundation for internal use. Too many software vendors make integrating their applications with third-party software difficult. GEOCOMtms tries to stay focused on what’s best for the customer, which is why we’re making this technology available.”
GEOCOMtms provides integrated fleet management software for local and short-haul pickup and delivery operations. A.MAZE Fleet Management™ includes tools for managing territory design, route planning, trucking dispatch, GPS fleet tracking, mobile field service, and fleet maintenance. Everyday, leading organizations choose the A.MAZE suite to direct thousands of vehicles from hundreds of depots and distribution centers. Busy logistics executives depend on A.MAZE because it delivers enterprise visibility and complete control over fleet operations. By partnering with GEOCOMtms, customers like FreshPoint, McPherson Oil Products, NAPA Auto Parts, and Purolator Courier have reduced operating costs while raising the level of customer service they provide.
