Segway Handsfree Seadicam in Use at British Open and in NYC
Segway Handsfree seadicam is currently being used by TNT for coverage of the British Open. SegwayNYNY is the only rental source for the SegcamXT in the US.

New York Post reporter Don Kaplan reports in the July 21, 2006 copy, “Segway Links High Tech Camera to Action” Mr. Kaplan reports erroneously that “The Segway-mounted camera made its debut at the British Open Yesterday” (July 20,2006) This could be true as it relates to the world of Golf, but the US debut was in none other than the greatest city for technology and film, Central Park, New York City on June 6, 2006 in a local commercial for “Music in the Parks”. Alec Jarnagin the steadicam operator who used the Handsfree for tracking and photography of a Park jogger has praise for the Handsfree. The newest camera platform, which increases mobility and allows for quick shots, is steered with the feet of the operator. “We are always trying to get closer and closer to the game,” a TNT Sports spokesman said. “This is a cool way to use new technology up close and personal without annoying the players.” The Handsfree is manufactured by Handsfree of Germany. The unit owned by itsi Atkins, founder of SegwayNYNY is pioneer in adapting Segway use for the motion picture industry. Mr. Atkins, a production manager and producer with over 35 feature credits has designed a SegCam fixed mounts for use with HD video and 35mm equipment. The Handsfree steadicam and the SegCam dolly are both in NYC will be available for demonstration by contacting the site.
