Liqueurs de France Absinthes Sweep the Board at IWSC 2006

Absinthes distributed by Liqueurs de France have made a clean sweep of medals at the 2006 International Wine and Spirits Competition.

Liqueurs de France is proud to announce that all five of the absinthes awarded medals at the recent 2006 International Wine and Spirits Competition are available to consumers and the trade exclusively through their distribution in the UK. Gold medal was awarded to Duplais absinthe from Matter-Luginbühl distillery, in Kallnach, Switzerland, Silver medals were picked up by Edouard absinthe and Nouvelle Orleans absinthe, both from Jade Liqueurs and produced at the Combier distillery in Saumur, France. Combier’s own Blanchette absinthe gained a silver. The final silver medal was collected by Doubs premium absinthe made in South Africa.

“We have spent several years promoting premium absinthes to the public and retailers alike and at last they have gained the recognition they deserve by collecting these prestigious awards ” said Liqueurs de France’s Director Ian Hutton. “We hope that by gaining Gold and Silver medals for our absinthes it will encourage retailers to take notice of the quality products that are available and make them more readily available to their customers.”
