Meet a Hotel Heiress Who Actually Works at the Hotel
Anouska Morritt, who was named Director of Marketing for Morritts Resorts, is intimately involved in running her father's hotels on Grand Cayman. She's the hotel heiress who learned the business and is now helping to run it.
Grand Cayman, British West Indies (PRWEB) July 25, 2006 -- On Grand Cayman today, Anouska Morritt was named Director of Marketing for Morritt's Resorts, the leading vacation ownership resorts in the Cayman Islands. Ms. Morritt, who began working in the family business in 2001, will be responsible for all new marketing initiatives undertaken on behalf of Morritt's Tortuga Club and Morritt's Grand Resort.
Prior to being named to her new position, Ms. Morritt learned the hotel business with stints in Morritt’s reservations, accounting and mortgage departments. Most recently she has been leading Morritt’s efforts to recover from Hurricane Ivan, which tore into the resorts in 2004 with 30-foot waves, leaving ruin and devastation in two buildings, the lobby and ocean side restaurant.
The hands-on hotel heiress, 30, helped manage the recovery effort, bringing in workers from Jamaica, and helping the team to unload containers and set up rooms with new furnishings and accessories. She helped select a new advertising agency for the company and has lead the development of a new website and marketing pieces for the two resorts.
“It’s a privilege to be involved with this company,” says the young heiress. “I take my job very seriously. The resorts have long been my father’s dream, and they have become my passion, as well.”
Morritt’s Resorts are located on the east end of Grand Cayman in the Caribbean's British West Indies. Morritt’s Tortuga Club and Resort was founded in 1987 by Anouska’s father, David Morritt, a developer from Great Britain. Anouska’s mother Mimi, from France, is also involved in resort operations. Anouska, who was born and raised in Great Britain, works out of company offices in Florida and on-site in the Cayman Islands.
