EPAFACTORY Enhances Security for Citrix Access Gateway Users through Agreement with OPSWAT

EPAFactory uses OPSWAT SDK to launch industry’s most comprehensive Anti-Virus EPA scan for Citrix Access Gateway users.

London, UK; San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) July 26, 2006 -- EPAFactory, one of the world’s foremost providers of custom end point analysis (EPA) scans for the Citrix Access Gateway today announced a technology partnership with OPSWAT, Inc. the leading provider of endpoint security application integration technologies.

Under the terms of the partnership, EPA Factory has incorporated OPSWAT’s Endpoint Security Integration SDK, OESIS Local, into EPA’s EPdetect Anti-Virus, Anti-Spyware and Personal Firewall scans for Citrix Access Gateways.

EPAFactory’s new EPdetect Anti-Virus offering scans for 40+ different anti-virus products, including leading providers such as eTrust, AVG, Panda, Trend, McAfee and Symantec, and is based on custom-written, compiled code rather than less secure scripted versions. Using EPAFactory’s single scan EPdetect Anti-Virus solution, organizations can allow or disallow access to resources based on whether AV is installed, is running and the time since the last update. EPAFactory’s growing library of EPA scans are being bought and used by Citrix customers and resellers around the world.

“The skills for writing secure EPA packages are specialized and not readily available on the market. By integrating OPSWAT’s OESIS Local into the EPAFactory EPdetect Anti-Virus scan for Citrix Access Gateway users, we’re effectively delivering the security that allows end-user organizations and Citrix resellers to implement their Citrix Smart Access solutions much more quickly and cut the time and cost needed for deployment and installation,” commented Brian DaBinett, Director, EPAFactory. “Citrix’s Smart Access technology using Advanced Access Control (AAC) is an extremely powerful technology – increasing control over how information is accessed, and extending access to more end points and users -- but it’s essential that any AAC implementation offers the highest levels of security and virus protection. Our new EPdetect Anti-Virus EPA scan gives organizations the security they need.”

OPSWAT’s OESIS Local is a complete software kit for developing products to detect, assess, manage and remediate multiple endpoint security applications. Using a simple object-oriented interface, OESIS Local provides a comprehensive API for controlling, managing, and checking the behavior of 450+ endpoint security applications from 40+ antivirus, antispyware and personal firewall vendors. Technology vendors using OESIS Local in their product offerings include EPAFactory, Cisco Systems, Juniper Networks, F5 Networks and Lockdown Networks.

“Being able to manage remote access securely is increasingly important,” said Tom Mullen, OPSWAT’s Director of Business Development. “The combination of OPSWAT and EPAFactory’s EPDetect scan products offer systems administrators running Citrix Smart Access better control over the security of any remote computer accessing the network.”
