Voxeo, a provider of hosted and premise-based VoIP and IVR services, expands its executive team. Voxeo hires two new vice presidents and promotes three current executives to expanded roles.

I’d also like to thank our growing customer base that allows us to support this latest expansion of our team. As Voxeo becomes a larger company, we remain firmly committed to the outstanding level of support our customers have always relied upon.

Voxeo Corporation, the only provider of hosted IVR services with a 100% uptime guarantee, today announced the hiring of two new corporate vice presidents. John Amein has joined Voxeo as Vice President of Strategic Partnerships, and John Hibel has joined Voxeo as Vice President of Marketing.

John Amein, who has over twenty years experience in computer telephony and voice applications, was previously founder and CEO of VoiceReady, which Voxeo acquired in July. Prior to founding VoiceReady, Mr. Amein was CEO of NetByTel, a pioneer in hosted speech applications. He also worked for Intel/Dialogic for thirteen years in a variety of sales and marketing leadership roles in the US and Europe. Mr. Amein graduated from Stanford University with a master of science in electrical engineering. At Voxeo, he will head the company’s strategic relationships with key industry business and technology partners.

John Hibel was previously VP of marketing at Vocalocity, where he developed the company's unique OEM VoiceXML market position. A fifteen-year veteran of the world of telephony, speech recognition, and VoiceXML, Mr. Hibel was formerly director of sales at VoiceGenie, where he helped grow revenue ninefold in less than three years. Mr. Hibel was also director of marketing and product management at Lucent Speech Solutions, where he was one of the first business representatives on the VoiceXML forum. Mr. Hibel graduated from MIT with a bachelor of science in engineering and a minor in economics. At Voxeo, he will drive the company’s marketing and positioning strategy and operations.

“We are delighted to have John and John join Voxeo’s leadership team. Together they bring a wealth of industry experience in hosted services, premise systems, and OEM partnerships, all of which play a key role in driving Voxeo’s rapid and steady growth,” said Jonathan Taylor, President and CEO of Voxeo. “I’d also like to thank our growing customer base that allows us to support this latest expansion of our team. As Voxeo becomes a larger company, we remain firmly committed to the outstanding level of support our customers have always relied upon.”

In addition, in the last quarter Voxeo has increased its overall headcount by more than 30% and promoted three executives to expanded roles:

  • Ryan Campbell, previously VP of engineering, was promoted to Senior VP, Product Delivery, where he will lead all aspects of Voxeo solution delivery and support.
  • Clegg Ivey, previously VP of Business Operations, was promoted to VP, Mergers and Acquisitions, where he will lead Voxeo’s strategy to acquire competitive and complementary businesses.
