San Jose, CA (PRWEB) July 26, 2006
Following its successful launch, BlogTalkRadio.com, a service that lets bloggers create and host their own live talk shows, announced the launch of the series, “Women in the Blogosphere.” This series will be featured on BlogTalkRadio.com’s website to celebrate those notable female bloggers who have contributed their distinctive voices to the blogosphere and are extending the face of new media. The series is being launched at the BlogHer Conference.
BlogHer, which runs from Friday, July 28th to Saturday, July 29th, explores how women’s blogs are changing their worlds. According to BlogTalkRadio’s CEO, Alan Levy, the conference provides a perfect opportunity to connect with influential and inspiring female bloggers.
“We’re not looking for the A List bloggers who already have large quantities of readers,” Levy explains. “We want to find the hidden jewels -- the women who are truly affecting change in their industries, or their households, or their organizations, but may not necessarily have a large readership yet. We want to feature the rising voices of the blogosphere, and extend their reach through live talk radio.”
Attending the conference will be Jaime Mintun, BlogTalkRadio.com’s Marketing Coordinator appointed to assist the site’s hosts with successfully promoting their shows. While there, Ms. Mintun looks forward to meeting bloggers face to face.
“Unfortunately, even with the advent of new media and community technology, we in the online world still rarely enjoy face to face connection,” says Ms. Mintun. “It’s always exciting to meet our hosts and fellow bloggers in person. I am confident that we will find far too many inspiring women at BlogHer, and that deciding who we can feature will prove to be our most difficult job of all.”
BlogTalkRadio.com plans to launch its special Women in the Blogosphere series the week surrounding Women’s Equality Day, August 26, 2006.
