New York, NY (PRWEB) July 26, 2006
At noon today Minuteman Project founder Jim Gilchrist and best-selling author Jerome Corsi will announce the release of their new book, “Minutemen: The Battle to Secure America’s Borders” (World Ahead Publishing, hardcover, $25.95, ISBN 0977898415). The news conference will take place at Ground Zero, the site where terrorists in the U.S. illegally committed the mass murder of nearly 3,000 Americans.
But while many regard Marine veteran Gilchrist and his fellow border-watchers as heroes who bring attention to a critical national security risk, opponents of their efforts to secure the nation’s boundaries have vowed to organize a massive protest against the authors. A group calling itself the “New York May 1st Coalition,” which claims to be the primary organizer behind the massive May 1 pro-amnesty rally in Manhattan, issued a release calling for protestors to meet at the corner of Church Street and Broadway. The coalition promised a vocal protest to deliver the confrontational message of “Get out of our city!” to Gilchrist and Corsi.
“…[N]o freedom-loving, justice-seeking New Yorker will tolerate the culture of hatred and anti-immigrant fascism that spewed by the politically insignificant and immoral Minutemen,” said May 1st Coalition spokesman Teresa Gutierrez, whose release claims that “Bayan Philippines” and the “Long Island Workplace Project” are co-sponsors of the protest. (The complete statement by the protest organizers is available at http://iacenter.org/archive-2006/minutemen-nyc072606.htm.)
But while the protestors are promising a less than hospitable welcome to the Big Apple, the authors of “Minutemen” are not backing down.
“According to their statement, these groups are ‘planning for a broad show of force’ at the news conference,” notes Gilchrist, who received a Purple Heart while serving in Viet Nam. “I’m not surprised. The truth hurts, and our book "Minutemen" makes it clear that America’s open borders pose an economic and national security risk. It’s no wonder that these protestors want to suppress that information, but we are not backing down.”
“In this post-9/11 world, America cannot afford to pretend that border security isn’t important,” adds Corsi, whose prior book “Unfit for Command” led to John Kerry’s defeat in the 2004 presidential election. “The advocates of illegal immigration and their supporters in the U.S. Senate may want to stop this message from getting out, but America needs to hear it.”
Gilchrist and Corsi’s controversial new book is already generating excitement among conservatives who oppose the plan by President Bush and the U.S. Senate to grant amnesty to illegal immigrants before securing the borders. The book contains a number of shocking revelations that suggest that that illegal immigration is a far greater problem than the federal government admits, including:
-- The real number of illegal aliens in the country is not 12 million, which the federal government claims, but closer to 30 million.
-- The IRS -- famous for hounding citizens who make mistakes on their returns -- has paid out $10 billion in refunds to illegal aliens who used fraudulent Social Security numbers, and it has no intention of going after those who’ve made fraudulent claims.
-- Over 3,000 illegal aliens suspected of murdering Americans have fled to Mexico, where they often live openly and without fear of arrest.
“Minutemen” features a foreword by Rep. Tom Tancredo (R-CO), 16 pages of shocking pictures, and a link to exclusive online content.
