Charles J. Wolf, II, CPA, president and CEO of Payroll Network, Inc., a locally owned payroll processing firm serving a wide range of businesses throughout the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, was recognized with SmartCEO Magazine’s SmartCPA Award. Wolf is a second-time winner.

Wolf, II, CPA, president and CEO of Payroll Network, Inc., a locally owned payroll processing firm serving a wide range of businesses throughout the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, was recognized with SmartCEO Magazine’s SmartCPA Award. Wolf is a second-time winner.

Wolf, along with other recipients, was recognized at a cocktail reception on the Dandy Dinner Cruise Ship in Alexandria, Virginia on July 27th. Winners are also featured in the July edition of SmartCEO Magazine.

The award acknowledges the efforts of the top 100 certified public accountants (CPA) from nominations solicited from Washington, DC, Maryland and Virginia SmartCEO Magazine readers, members of the Greater Washington Society of CPAs, Virginia Society of CPAs and the Maryland Association of CPAs. Nominees are professionals practicing in accounting firms, private industry, and government and education sectors throughout the region.

Payroll Network was founded by Wolf and several associates in 1997. Previously, he was president and CEO of Wolf Computer Systems. Prior to that position, he was executive vice president at ADP (Potomac). He also was founder and owner of Hughes Computer Systems.

Wolf is a member and sponsor of the Greater Washington Society of CPAs and its golf classic. He is a supporter of the Booz Allen Classic, serving on the Board of Governors and Finance Committee (co-chair). He is also a board member and treasurer of So Others Might Eat. He is active in the Maryland Association of CPAs, Virginia Society of CPAs, Greater Washington Board of Trade, the DC and Northern Virginia Technology Councils, and various area chambers of commerce.

A graduate of Gonzaga College High School and Georgetown University, Wolf is a 25-year member of the Gonzaga board, serving on its Executive Committee and as chairman of the Finance Committee.
