Web Marketing Association Names Thierry Halbroth to the 2006 WebAward Judging Panel

The Web Marketing Association is pleased to announce that Thierry Halbroth has been selected as a judge of the 10th annual international WebAward competition for Web site development.

(PRWEB) July 28, 2006 -- The Web Marketing Association is pleased to announce that Thierry Halbroth has been selected as a judge of the 10th annual international WebAward competition for Web site development.

The WebAwards is the standards-defining competition that sets industry benchmarks based on the seven criteria of a successful website. It recognizes both individual and team achievements of Web professionals who create and maintain outstanding websites.

"Unlike other awards, the WebAwards is not a beauty pageant where only the design and name recognition is important," said William Rice, president of the Web Marketing Association. "For the past decade, the WebAwards has used a quantitative judging formula based on seven criteria to evaluate, benchmark and set industry standards for Web site development”.

This year, Mark Kingdon, CEO of Organic, Inc. has been selected to lead the judging panel as the first Chair of the 10th annual international WebAward and will use his expertise and insights to help define and enhance the current standard of excellence for award-winning websites.

Thierry Halbroth is currently a Senior Creative Director with McCann Erickson’s Cathay Pacific Central Team Worldwide, where he manages integrated solutions through the line for all Cathay Pacific brands including Cathay Pacific, The Marco Polo Club and Asia Miles. Prior to this position, Thierry was managing the online marketing activities for British Airways and Qantas as Director of Integrated Services, M&C Saatchi Greater China.

Thierry is continually acknowledged for work that is both creative and highly effective, with numerous awards at Media’s Asian Brand Marketing Effectiveness, the Hong Kong Association of Accredited Advertising Agents Interactive & Direct Awards (IDA’s) and more recently a Gold EFFIE. He is often called upon as a judge for events such as the Singapore Creative Circle Awards, the CASBAA’s Advertising Awards, Media’s Spikes and the global Stevie Awards.

The 2006 WebAward judges are a select group of
Internet professionals with direct experience designing and managing Web sites – including members of the media, interactive creative directors, corporate marketing managers, site designers, content providers and webmasters – with an in-depth understanding of the current trends in website development and technology. Judging for this year's awards will take place in July and August, with winners announced in September.
