Fox Chapel Publishing Continues Steady Growth; Acquires Cambium Press

Lancaster County, PA (PRWEB) July 31, 2006 -- Fox Chapel Publishing, the specialty publisher recently included on the Publishers Weekly list of “Eleven Fast Growing Independent Publishers,” is proud to announce the acquisition of Cambium Press, the well-respected publisher of furniture and cabinet-making titles.
The purchase of Cambium Press will immediately expand the reach of Fox Chapel into the general woodworking market. “With Fox’s specialty in woodcarving, turning and scrolling books, this acquisition of Cambium adds general woodworking and furniture making titles to our catalog as we aim to achieve the same reach and recognition in this market as we enjoy in our own,” said Alan Giagnocavo, president and owner of Fox Chapel Publishing.
John Kelsey, the founder and editor-in-chief of Cambium Press and a former editor of Fine Woodworking magazine, will remain on-board in the dual role of title acquisition and editor. “It was an easy decision for us to acquire Cambium and to continue to work with John. I can think of few senior editors who bring what John does to the field: publishing savvy and a deep love of woodworking,” added Giagnocavo.
Among the 20 Cambium back-list titles to be added to the Fox Chapel library are the best-selling Craftsman Shop Drawings series by Robert Lang and the two-volume Woodworkers’ Essential Facts, Formulas, and Short Cuts, recently listed as a Main Selection by the Woodworker’s Book Club.
In addition, the Fox Chapel fall front-list will expand to include Cambium’s “Modern Cabinet Work,” a reprint of the rare 1922 classic known in woodworking circles as the “cabinetmaker’s bible,” and Shop Drawings for Greene & Greene Furniture, a new addition to the aforementioned Lang series. Both books will be available October 1, 2006.
