Cosmetology School in Tempe Goes Cosmopolitan
The International Academy of Hair Design has opened its second state-of-the-art cosmetology school and is accepting applications for cosmetology students at their new location, 4812 S. Mill Ave. in Tempe.
(PRWEB) July 29, 2006 -- The International Academy of Hair Design has opened its second state-of-the-art cosmetology school and is accepting applications for cosmetology students at their new location, 4812 S. Mill Ave. in Tempe.
The $2 million, two-story, contemporary, 14,000 square foot school offers an upscale salon atmosphere with the latest innovations in Cosmetology. There are classrooms for theory and practical training, a separate classroom for advanced training, a clinic laboratory, a well-equipped student’s lounge, as well as a library of texts, publications, curricula, audio-visual equipment and aids, and industry-related journals. IAHD’s new facility offers programs in Cosmetology as well as an instructor course outline for those who want to teach. There is covered parking for both students and patrons.

The 1,600-hour cosmetology curriculum consists of: Theory of Cosmetology and Arizona Law; Haircutting; Shampooing; Hair Coloring; Hair Styling; Chemical Hair Restructuring; Lightening; Facials and Makeup; Massage; Nail Technology; Treatment of the Hair and Scalp; Electricity and Light Therapy; Creative Preference; Disinfection Procedures; as well as lectures and demonstrators on the uses of new products and tools of the trade. Graduates are eligible to apply for a license through the Arizona State of Cosmetology.
The instructor course consists of a 650-hour program that trains the student in the basic teaching skills, educational judgments, proper work habits, and desirable attitudes necessary to pass the State Board examination and for competency in job entry level employment as an instructor or related career avenue. By September, IAHD will open their Aesthetics course at the Mill Avenue location as well.
