"We've found a way beyond spam techniques and charging for exposure that is worthless," said Mike Hamilton, STA's Director of Global Sales and Advertising and the company's Chief Operating Officer. "Now our advertisers can draw the exact map of the area they want to cover and we can ensure that every click they get will come from within that area -- whether it's one city or country or anything in between."

The pinpointing comes through the use of IP addresses -- which are assigned to each computer and are typically logged by most sites. "Actually we are offering much more than pay per click," Hamilton said, "because it makes no difference how many views come through a single computer or how often the ad is viewed. You only get charged once. For once we are playing a hyper-reliable numbers game and the proof will be in satisfied advertisers and the customers they meet through this remarkable new system."

STA is offering this new feature to all of its clients at a minimal cost which will be applied to "IP clicks." The rate sheet for what Hamilton calls "Pay Per Unique Visitor (PPUV)" varies between $.50 for an expanded radius, and $2.60 for a local radius with rich media.”

"It might take a day, or a week or a month to get the traffic," he said. "The point is that it will be relevant traffic based on pinpoint localizing. I feel that we are bringing the Internet home for small retailers, and giving sensible, viable options for large national and multi-national companies."
