Once a patron of the theatrical arts and a talented painter, author Kit Gleave unfortunately fell ill in 1981 due to kidney failure. This sudden illness prevented Gleave from doing anything more than fight to survive. After receiving a successful kidney transplant, he started anew and took up writing. Gleave writes: “I’ve always loved writing and word play, but being severely dyslexic, I considered that world forever closed to me, and so I concentrated on painting. However, since acquiring a word processor I’ve found I could circumvent many of my problems and with the invaluable help of my wife, my editor in chief, I have produced my first two novels.” In his first full-length novel, The Stone Messiahs -- Book One -- A Child of Two Worlds, Gleave tells of a tribe’s quest for answers from the past that will determine the destiny of their future.

Many years ago stones fell to the earth forming strange paths that inspire detailed dreams and visions. The Terracan tribe learned to utilize these stones’ paths to obtain knowledge. One stone in particular called the Dreaming Stone is said to control the destiny of their people and lead them back to the stone builders known as the Cad a Hoi. With the birth of twin Messiahs which were mentioned in an ancient prophecy the Terracan now have hope that the Dreaming Stone will at last be recovered.

Four young people set out on a journey to find The Dreaming Stone. Twin Messiahs that were spoken of in the prophecy, a young girl longing for answers about her past and a twelve year old boy quickly coming of age, embark on an extensive voyage that not only brings them face to face with magical creatures and strange lands but they also tackle personal fears and unfamiliar pasts.

Gleave is working on a second novel “The Stone Messiahs -- Book Two -- The Circle” that he hopes to have completed by the fall of 2006.
