Pelham, NY (PRWEB) August 1, 2006
To counter negative stereotypes associated with people of size, two online advertising veterans - one of size, one not - have launched this month a video website called Nation of Size.com (http://www.nationofsize.com). The site features frequently updated videos that showcase the talents and accomplishments of people of size. The videos maintain a positive focus and spotlight people who are traditionally marginalized. The videos are intended to entertain and inspire, and are geared for people of all sizes who are touched by issues of size.
“We are not a diet site, a medical reference or a “'at power' site," said Peter Meluso, co-founder and creative force behind Nation of Size, and himself a person of size. “We believe people should live healthy lives and have confidence in themselves no matter where they are on the weight chart.”
Ed Dintrone, Nation of Size co-founder and CEO added, “Our ultimate mission is to create a size-friendly world. A world that is more accommodating and with a better understanding of the everyday issues facing people of size. The videos are the first step in that mission.”
Membership to the site is free. The company plans to sell advertising on its site in the near future. The founders say they’ve already drawn early interest from a few unnamed ”big brands”. We’re interested in working with advertisers who are sincerely interested in helping create a size-friendly world, said Dintrone, “our roster of charter advertisers will reflect this.”
Long time friends, Dintrone and Meluso started their advertising careers together at Backer and Spielvogel in 1985, honing their media and agency management skills. A decade later, the two were founding partners in i-traffic, one of the first online ad agencies. i-traffic was widely recognized as a pioneer in the online advertising sector. The two helped grow the company to profitability with over 120 employees and offices in New York and San Francisco. i-traffic was subsequently sold to AGENCY.com
Nation of Size, LLC is based in Pelham, NY and is privately held by its founders.
