Slavich, L.Ac., Dipl.Ac., ADS to the SouthPark area. Ms. Slavich is a classically trained and licensed acupuncturist whose private practice focuses on general health and wellness. Her office will be located on the 2nd floor of the ReGenesis building at 4423 Sharon Road (across from the Cheesecake Factory, behind the Scottish Bank) in Charlotte. She will be accepting new patients beginning in September.
Acupuncture is one of the oldest and most commonly used medical procedures in the world, originating in China more than 2,000 years ago. It consists of inserting fine needles into the body at precise points to treat specific health issues. Acupuncture is recognized by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the World Health Organization (WHO) as an effective treatment for a wide range of common disorders. It is often combined with other Chinese medical modalities such as acupressure, Chinese dietary therapy, and moxibustion (thermal stimulation).
Although acupuncture is not usually associated with more conventional aesthetic practices, according to Dr. Donald Sudy, MD, ReGenesis’ Medical Director, it is a logical addition to the ReGenesis model: “At ReGenesis, we are passionate about helping our clients reclaim the health and beauty in their lives, both inside and out. About Denise
Denise Slavich received her acupuncture training at the Jung Tao School of Classical Chinese Medicine, where she completed a nationally-accredited 4-year master’s level degree program. She is board-certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) and is licensed to practice acupuncture in North Carolina.
Before pursuing a career in acupuncture, Denise served as a Cryptologist in the U.S. Navy; worked as a technical writer and editor for a variety of industries; and instructed aerobics, yoga and other group fitness activities. She received her undergraduate education from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, graduating Summa Cum Laude.
Denise holds professional memberships in the North Carolina Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCAAOM), American Association of Oriental Medicine (AAOM), National Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (AOM) Alliance, and the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association (NADA). She is a certified Acupuncture Detoxification Specialist (ADS) for acupuncture-based treatment of addictions and related disorders.
