Vancouver, BC (PRWEB) August 2, 2006
Together with leading tech companies, Nitobi is pleased to join the OpenAJAX Alliance, in efforts to revolutionize rich internet applications (RIA). Members such as Adobe, Ajaxian, Sun Microsystems & many more of the OpenAJAX Alliance, will be working collaboratively to ensure interoperability between Ajax tools and provide a great user experience across the web.
OpenAJAX Alliance was established earlier this year to develop formal specifications for AJAX technology. Emerged from the intent of improving end user productivity, AJAX is a development technique leveraging technologies already found in browsers, so plug-ins are not required. Its impact is big. Many tools and solutions have since been developed & deployed. Compatibility between commercial and open source AJAX tools must be enforced. This is where members of the coalition stepped up in hopes to come to a consensus on AJAX programming models and best practices. One of OpenAJAX’s first consolidations was the modification of the definition of AJAX in Wikipedia. With key executives from many influential technology companies, it’s no wonder that the list of members is still growing.
As part of our commitment to OpenAJAX, Nitobi will be contributing towards setting the standards of AJAX implementation, including defining the OpenAJAX vocabulary and architectural blueprint; defining integration specifications across different AJAX toolkits and ensuring the ability to mix with XML markup. Here are the OpenAJAX subcommittees & involvement from members of Nitobi:
OpenAJAX Alliance Subcommittees
Marketing: Andre Charland, Nitobi CEO & Co-founder; Alexei White, Nitobi Product Manager
Interoperability: James Douma, Nitobi Chief Architect
Declarative Markup: Dave Johnson, Nitobi CTO & Co-founder
“Nitobi is proud to be collaborating with industry leaders such as Adobe, Sun, IBM and Dojo to improve best practices around interoperability and collaboration. If we get it right, it will certainly help software developers and end users across the internet.” said Andre, CEO of Nitobi. Currently with 50 members, the OpenAjax Alliance is growing very quickly, but “it is still very important that we get all the key industry players to make Ajax interoperability a reality” says Charland.
The OpenAJAX Alliance knows that they have a lot to work on. Nitobi will be actively participating in meetings every two weeks to help establish goals. With a promise of interoperability across any operating system, AJAX solutions and browsers, bookmark http://www.openajaxalliance.org for future reference in AJAX.
