East Hartford, CT (PRWEB) August 4, 2006 -- Experts from NOAA's National Hurricane Center are predicting that the 2006 Hurricane Season will be an above average one, with 8-10 named storms becoming hurricanes. Each year as the storm season begins, passengers and travel agents call to inquire about the travel protection benefits available for losses due to storms. The answer is "Worldwide Trip Protector will safeguard vacation investments as long as the protection is purchased prior to the storm becoming a foreseeable event" said Judy Sutton, Director of Product development at Travel Insured.
We are pleased to announce that for Plans purchased on or after July 24, 2006, Worldwide Trip Protector includes Trip Cancellation and Interruption coverage for the complete cessation of a common carrier for 24 or more hours. A significant improvement over the former provision of 48 hours" explained Jason Dobrindt, National Sales Manager for Travel Insured. "What's even more exciting" continues Jason," is our newly added coverage in the event a natural disaster
at the destination site renders destination accommodations uninhabitable."
Worldwide Trip Protector also provides Travel Delay benefits when weather delays a trip for more than 6 hours and Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption coverage if the insured's home is rendered uninhabitable due to a natural disaster, such as tree falling on the roof due to a storm.
For losses to be covered, the plan must be purchased before a hurricane is forecasted or predicted. Once a storm is named, losses resulting from a hurricane that has been forecasted or predicted on or before the effective date of the plan are excluded.
