Towers Productions Names William Fisher as CEO

Towers Productions, Inc. (TPI), the Chicago-based producer of factual and entertainment programming, announced recently that it has named William Fisher as its Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Fisher will be responsible for the company’s business operations and for its continued growth in entertainment programming, international development and broadband video. TPI recently announced a partnership with 21e, the Internet and television technology company, to acquire, develop and distribute video programming to broadband users worldwide. TPI and 21e are creating several broadband channels which include original programming produced by TPI. With his appointment, Mr. Fisher joins the advisory board of 21e.

Towers Productions, Inc. (TPI), the Chicago-based producer of factual and entertainment programming, announced recently that it has named William Fisher as its Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Fisher will be responsible for the company’s business operations and for its continued growth in entertainment programming, international development and broadband video. He will also work closely on editorial matters with TPI’s founding President and Executive Producer, Jonathan Towers, who becomes the company’s Chairman, and will focus on creative oversight and program development.

“Towers Productions is a recognized leader in factual and documentary program production for cable television,” said Mr. Fisher. “The company is also becoming a player in entertainment programming for the broadcast networks and in international sales and co-production. My goal is to help Jonathan grow the business through new alliances with domestic and international partners and through new media opportunities where we can leverage TPI’s extensive production and program library resources.”

Mr. Fisher joins the company from Collegia Capital, LLC, a private equity investment group, where he remains a partner. He was previously President of Playboy TV International, where he was responsible for worldwide operations of the company’s branded networks in 40 countries and for the international sale of Playboy programming (1999-2001). He has also served as Senior Vice President of HBO International, with oversight of Time Warner’s pay-TV activities in the Asia Pacific Region (1995-99), and as Vice President of Programming at STAR TV, where he was part of the management team that launched Asia’s dominant satellite television programmer (1991-95).

Mr. Fisher was educated at Yale University (B.A., magna cum laude) and Columbia University (M.F.A.), where he was a Scholar of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. He was also a Fulbright Scholar in the Federal Republic of Germany. His commentary on the television industry has appeared in numerous publications including the Wall Street Journal, the Nation, Daily Telegraph, Tageszeitung and Cahiers du cinéma.
