New Indie Artists Records Creates Blog to Raise Awareness

New Indie Artists is a record label and artistic management company discovering the best musical talent from funk to folk. It recently launched a blog that provides up-to-the-minute news.

Centreville, VA (PRWEB) August 7, 2006 -- New Indie Artists (NIA) discovers the best music from funk to folk. The record label and artistic management company has signed artists including Abigail Kiser, Alexe Colbus, Amanda Wilkins, 35 Days In May, and Ama Atobrah. All female recording artists are accomplished singers under the age of 25 and were plucked from their hometowns around Virginia to tour the East Coast.

NIA recently launched a blog that provides candid information about artists, gigs, and other label news, as well as music and video. Discover the talents of these young girls before the rest of the world does. Visit the NIA site and blog!

Abigail Kiser is one of the most exciting new talents I’ve seen in the past 15 years.
Amanda Wilkins lives in Front Royal, Virginia with her pianist husband, Rick Wilkins, and was discovered by Jeff Kaye, NIA President, at a café in Woodstock, Virginia. She signed with NIA this past June and has opened for country heavyweights Rascal Flatts, Phil Vassar, Travis Tritt, and Jo Dee Messina. Critics liken her talent to Janis Joplin and Bonnie Rait.

Abigail Kiser, who’s said to sound like Ani DiFranco and Regina Spektor, is a songwriter and poet from Chantillty, Virginia. Her music was featured on the 2006 North by Northeast Festival compilation CD. “Abigail Kiser is one of the most exciting new talents I’ve seen in the past 15 years.” Said Michael Jaworeck, booking manager for the Birchmere in Alexandria, Virginia, a premiere venue that only books national acts.

Alexe Colbus’ self-titled debut CD was released on June 6, 2006. New Indie Artists hosted a private concert to launch the album, which has already created a buzz at Sony as well as other major labels. Alexe’s vocal and piano performances sound like Alicia Keys and Fiona Apple. She sold out one of the most popular indie clubs in Virginia at her debut performance.

NIA updates its blog daily with news on its artists and recording projects. Available also are music and video previews, just a click away! NIA will soon expand further into the blogosphere with personal blogs from their sound engineer and other musicians who have worked with NIA artists.
