Penguins Enchant and Educate in Stunning New Children’s Book

"Silly Lila" by Françoise Callier uses dazzling montages to tell an adorably instructional story of a young penguin in Antarctica.

Paris, France (PRWEB) August 6, 2006 -- Françoise Callier’s "Silly Lila" is a charming story of a mischievous penguin girl who wants to be the center of attention. Full of amazing penguin facts, this is a children’s tale that adults will also treasure.

Part moral tale and part learning adventure, "Silly Lila" is a warm and humorous book that’s full of surprises. Silly Lila is a little penguin who isn’t happy unless all eyes are on her. But when she climbs to the top of an iceberg, she finds she can’t get down. Can the other penguins all band together and save her? Callier tells her story of penguin family love with wit and aplomb, and she also slides in lots of fun penguin trivia, as well. Children will learn to recognize four different kinds of penguins, and they will also discover that penguins lay eggs.

Callier’s eye for design is impeccable. A onetime agent for such famous photographers as Helmut Newton and Jean-Paul Goude, she has “Photoshopped” gorgeous montages of penguins and Antarctica to form dazzling borders and eye-popping tableaux. "Silly Lila" is a book that both children and their parents will love long after childhood has passed.
