Thai Privilege Spa Opens Its First North American Location

New Yorkers enjoy all the privileges of Thailand’s best spa in SoHo.

New York, NY (PRWEB) August 6, 2006 -- From the minute you step into Thai Privilege Spa, gracious hosts dressed in lustrous Thai silk coats charms you with their lyrical ‘Sawadeekah’. A tray of fragrant ginger tea, water and a warm camphor hand towel is presented, as you slowly ease into the tranquility of the spa’s Thai-Oriental décor, deep jewel-toned colors and the lulling, native flower aromatic scent.

Ahhh… the ultimate Thai spa getaway. Without even having to fly across the Pacific, New Yorkers can now experience genuine, restorative spa treatments, sights and scents of Thailand in New York City.

Set in the heart of SoHo on the second floor of 155 Spring Street, THAI PRIVILEGE SPA (NY) is an international, world-class spa offering time-honored Thai-Oriental spa traditions. Owned and operated by Bangkok-based spa conglomerate, Thai Privilege Health Care Co., Thai Privilege Spa (NY) offers an amazing menu of time-honored Thai-Oriental spa traditions, including the country’s most popular signature treatment - Thai Massage.

“We are overjoyed to be able to introduce true Thai spa traditions through Thai Privilege Spa to the United States. Naturally, our goal is to help spa enthusiasts understand more about Thai-Oriental wellness and share our heritage with them,” says Ms. Surangrat Chirathivat, CEO of Thai Privilege Health Care Co. “Thais are a people who value serenity, so getting massages and spa treatments come naturally to us. We hope to inspire the same ideas of content and peacefulness here as it is for us, and create a well-balanced, relaxing and intimate experience for the mind and body.”

Thai Privilege Spa is one of the most celebrated spa names in Thailand and Southeast Asia. New York City is the newest and fifth location in addition to two in Bangkok, one in Phuket and Shanghai. In 2005, they were the only day spa to be recognized by the Thai government with the highly-coveted Prime Minister Export Awards.

At the SoHo location, guests will be captivated by its genuine Thai elegance the moment the elevator doors open. Drawing inspirations from classic Thai architecture and daily customs, this enormous gallery spa brings guests back to old Thailand with its embellishments of delicate gold-papered walls, royal ceramic vases, Thai silk cushions, antique carved furnishings, flowing fabrics and teak wood chofas (a soaring temple-roof finial that is also the epitome of Thai architecture).

The spa sprawls over 6,300 square feet, accommodating six single treatment rooms, an airy Thai sala (pavilion) for authentic floor-style Thai massages, and a private foyer where guests will delight in foot massages on their plush, gold-leathered lounge chairs. The spa also houses two 300 sq. ft., studio-size VIP suites that are equipped with full shower amenities and easily fit two or three massage beds each.

Ms. Chirathivat adds, “All our spas have the distinct advantage of space. It’s important because generous breathing space is therapeutic and we want guests to be able to relax in an environment where their minds can soar. Also, you will find the same attentive service, quality products, sincere hospitality and familiarity at all our Thai Privilege Spas.”

The spa offers an amazing menu of time-honored Thai-Oriental spa body and facial treatments. Popular treatments include:
- Siam Aroma Body Treatment, a combination massage style of aromatherapy and traditional Thai massage.
- Healing Art of Privilege Thai Massage, a traditional full body massage that is usually done on a mattress on the floor and with the client clothed.
- Deep Detoxifying Masque (Facial), an authentic Thai facial using all-natural, high potency Aloe Vera to promote healthy skin rejuvenation.

As with traditional Thai hospitality, every guest is treated to a welcoming foot bath before starting their face or body treatment. Prices start from $110 for a facial, $120 for a massage, $230 for deep body treatments that require two therapists, and $300 onwards for special royal packages. At Thai Privilege Spa, all treatments are performed by specially-trained therapists in Thai methodology, and without the use of equipments.

Using the finest herbs, flowers and spices that are indigenous or harvested in Thailand, the made-in-Thailand SARAHN product line reflects the spa’s heritage and wellness philosophy. Sarahn, meaning “inner joy of serenity,” consists of herbal bath gels, body lotions, herbal bath oils, therapeutic massage oils, tropical herbal/fruit scrubs, using key ingredients include Turmeric, Lemongrass, Honey, Fah-Ta-Lai-Jone (an anti-aging herb found only in Thailand), Tamarind, and Aloe Vera. The Sarahn beauty collection also include Aloe Vera Facial Gel, Q10 Turmeric Facial Serum (Collagen building), Herbal Breast Firming Creams, and home spa accessories. Prices range from $15 and up.
