Can I Kiss You? Safe, Respectful Campus Dating

Mike Domitrz, creator of The SafeDate Project and popular campus lecturer, author of "May I Kiss You," appears on Full Power Living, Internet radio program on World Talk Radio, on Thursday, August 10 (9 a.m. PT) to prepare listeners for the coming "dating season" on high school and college campuses.

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) August 7, 2006 -- “No means no” is not enough.” When one of my children was in high school and asking to go to an unsupervised party, she commented “Don’t worry. I’m not going to do The Nasty!” She was shocked when I responded “But I want you to date and to become sexual! It’s a normal part of human life. I just want you to do it when you are ready, and in a way that is pleasant and beautiful.”

“No means no” doesn’t allow for “yes,” according to Mike Domitrz, author of May I Kiss You? and founder of The DateSafe Project, who is featured on Internet radio’s Full Power Living (worldtalkradio) on Thursday, August 10, at 9 a.m. PT. He tells listeners how to get to “no” or “yes,” respectfully and safely.

One in four college women and one in eight men will be a victim of sexual assault before they turn 24, according to Angela Bachman, the community outreach coordinator at Fargo’s (ND) Rape and Abuse Crisis Center. As we send our precious young people off to high school and college this Fall, it is important that they, and we, know how to protect them from date rape, teach them Sexual Assault Awareness, and arm them with what they need to know about Communication, Respect, Intimacy and Consent.

Mike Domitrz’s world was shaken and transformed when, as a college sophomore, he learned that his sister, Cheri, had been raped. He has since made it his life’s work to educate American high school and college students about what it takes to ensure consensual, pleasant and beautiful starts to the realm of adult sexuality and intimacy. Emphasizing the importance of asking for consent, Domitrz is has devoted his life to educating society about dating, communication, respect, consent and sexual assault awareness. He is one of the foremost and welcomed speakers on college campuses today.

Full Power Living, hosted by Ilene Dillon, M.S.W., is aired on World Talk Radio, and is “awakening the world to the power and importance of human emotions.” Live broadcasts are at 9 a.m. (PT) Thursdays, with over 50 past programs archived on the site for anytime listening. Past guests have included Dr. Kenneth Mattox, co-head of the Katrina Medical Clinic at the Houston Astrodome, Dennis Bakke (Joy at Work), Bruce Cameron (How to Remodel a Man), Susan Page (If I’m So Wonderful, Why Am I Still Single), Gregg Braden (The Isaiah Effect; The God Code) and Harville Hendrix, Ph.D. (Finding the Love You Want).

Alert parents and students “want to know” how to keep themselves safe and at full choice when dating. Listen to Mike Domitrz on Thursday, August 10, 9 a.m. on Full Power Living, World Talk Radio dot com, talking about Safe Dating and how to ask: “May I Kiss You?”
