New, sophisticated call control capabilities of Paraxip’s Open Gateway product yield significant competitive advantage to Parlance’s ConnectorVi® Service.

The Paraxip Gateway product provides a highly flexible bridge between TDM endpoints such as legacy PBXs and switches, and Parlance’s SIP-based VoiceXML application. Paraxip and Parlance have worked together to enhance the Paraxip Gateway so that it can support this functionality, significantly extending the basic transfer primitives available with VoiceXML. With these enhancements, ConnectorVi performs complex multistep transfer sequences, such as dialing a main number, waiting for answer, entering an IVR code, then entering an extension, waiting for start of ring, and so forth, all as part of the transfer sequence. These new capabilities enable the speech application to reliably reach destinations through an IVR system, on a numeric paging network, or behind an auto-attendant, to name just a few examples.
