Abt Electronics Now Offering Customer Product Reviews with PowerReviews
Abt Electronics recently added the ability for customers to post reviews on the products that they recently purchased. The service was in beta during July and went live in August of 2006. Abt is currently receiving several reviews each day. Abt utilized the services of PowerReviews to get this up and running within a short period of time. Abt’s customer service representatives are moderating customer reviews for abuse and foul language, otherwise all reviews are in their original form when placed on the website.
(PRWEB) August 17, 2006 -- Abt Electronics has teamed up with PowerReviews to offer customers the ability to post firsthand accounts of their most recent consumer electronics and appliances online purchases. These reviews allow customers to share their experiences of particular products with other potential buyers. The benefit to shoppers is that they receive a first-hand account of another customer’s experience with the product. Abt Electronics also uses the reviews to notify vendors and manufacturers about poor product quality, durability or functionality.
Abt values opinions of customers highly and customer reviews are a natural extension of that. The company feels that the best form of advertising is “word of mouth” and this functionality does exactly that. The company has more than 8,000 products posted on their website and customers can post reviews on any of them (including audio, video, gaming, computer products, furniture, major appliances, small appliances and accessories).
“We wanted a way for our customers to share their thoughts on products they purchased from us. It allows the customer to post constructive criticism and gives other consumers who are looking at the product a first hand un-biased look. ” said Jon Abt, VP at Abt Electronics. “We looked at several options, including building this functionality in-house, but opted for PowerReviews after several weeks in review”.
Abt plans on sharing the reviews with their vendors. “If there are design or usability flaws, our vendors want to hear about it.” Abt says. “This will give our manufacturer partners direct interaction from our customers using their products. It’s a “win-win” for everyone.”
