New York Based Publisher Releases Cross-Generational Anthology of Women's Poetry

Lit Noire Publishing, an independent, New York City based publisher releases a new publication, "Check the Rhyme: An Anthology of Female Poets & Emcees" edited by DuEwa M. Frazier. The anthology features the poetry of 50 nationally and internationally known women writers, playwrights, lyricists and spoken word artists. The book release party is scheduled for Thursday, August 31, 2006, at The Bowery Poetry Club in New York City.

Lit Noire Publishing releases a new publication, "Check the Rhyme: An Anthology of Female Poets & Emcees." DuEwa M. Frazier, editor and publisher of the anthology states, “I am proud to publish and promote women writers who are striving each day to maintain their art and serve the world through their creative gifts.” "Check the Rhyme" is a cross-generational volume of poetry, featuring the work of fifty thought provoking and inspirational women writers, lyricists and spoken word artists from diverse cultures and backgrounds. "Check the Rhyme" features 18 chapters, revealing poetry that is a representation of both emerging and established poets. The book contains a variety of themes including: beauty and self esteem, empowerment for youth, hip hop culture, jazz music, the state of our society, Hurricane Katrina’s impact, healing from violence, family and motherhood, history, and more.

"Check the Rhyme: An Anthology of Female Poets & Emcees" was created to serve as a tool of education and inspiration for female youth. Lit Noire Publishing was established in 2002. Other titles published by Lit Noire Publishing include two volumes of poetry by DuEwa M. Frazier: "Shedding Light From My Journeys" and "Stardust Tracks on a Road." The book release party for the anthology is scheduled for Thursday, August 31, 2006 from 6-8 p.m. at The Bowery Poetry Club in New York City.
