Nature’s Earth Products Inc. is donating 100 40-pound bags of All-Pet Bedding to the Great Bunny Rescue of 2006. The rescue effort in Reno, Nevada, is being organized by Utah-based Best Friends Animal Society. The society has fledged a nationwide campaign to find homes for more than 1,600 bunnies that were rescued from one woman’s one-acre backyard in Reno.

“The babies were being born at a rate of 30 to 40 per day,” said one volunteer. “The bunnies were suffering from disease, overcrowding, uncontrolled breeding, and health problems when we were called in to help.”

“We have been giving to shelters since I got started in the alternative pet industry, and we continue to do so through or subsidized shelter program,” said Ken Simard, CEO of Nature’s Earth Products. “When a member of our team read what was happening in USA Today, we immediately picked up the phone. The focus of our company has always been on creating pet products that are safe for animals and our environment.”

Rescuers are calling it one of the largest bunny rescues to date and the story received national coverage in USA Today. The All-Pet Bedding donated is safe for bunnies, volunteers and the environment.
