Online Wine Search Tool Gains Momentum

“Drag and Drop,” your way to your favorite wine.

Seattle, WA (PRWEB) August 11, 2006 -- The wine industry and web 2.0 technologies converge at BuyersVine.com. Co-founders Mark A. Michael and Daniel L. Rust announced late last week the launch of their dynamic wine web search tool called BuyersVine.com. Since the beta launch, BuyersVine.com has received over 5,000 unique visitors and over 50 wineries have created accounts. This technology enables wineries to describe their wines and for consumers to interactively search by dynamically, “dragging and dropping,” their specific interests and BuyersVine.com finds the relevant results.

BuyersVine.com is a technology developed by Synapse Corporate Solutions, a Seattle-based identity and Web-based software company. Both Michael (24) and Rust (23) own and operate Synapse Corporate Solutions. Over the past year, they have worked with several wine related companies and more specifically a wine industry solution built by Synapse called SynapseWine.

“This is the first time consumers, and wineries can find each other based on tastes, regions, price and so on,” explains Mr. Michael. “Our strategic plan for BuyersVine.com is to allow the wine community in the form of blogs, e-commerce sites ie: Vinado.com, and wineries to link their wines in a way consumers can find what they are looking for.”

BuyersVine.com makes it fun for consumers to shop for wine. They can experiment with their selections, communicate the results of their searches to themselves or others, and generally enjoy the wine selection process. With its direct-from-winery product update, they will be presented with the latest offerings of the nation's most unique and drinkable wines, many that will be offered nowhere else.

“We found that though wineries had web sites; they (wineries) could not effectively promote their wines to a larger audience," said Mr. Rust. “For the first time, the wine industry has access to a direct-to-consumer tool to supplement their (wineries) existing e-commerce sites. Wineries that do not have e-commerce capabilities will definitely want to bring their wines to the marketplace and now they (wineries) have a way to market.”

The BuyersVine.com web site features tools for consumers to: save their preferred searches through RSS Feeds, results for searches are based on relevancy, and simple search criteria; make BuyersVine.com a unique tool for consumers looking for their preferred wine. Consumers can search by categories such as: color, type, taste/character, foods, price, region and even more “fun,” categories such wines that go with a certain: sport, day of the week, month, holiday, profession, interaction ie: girlfriend's house, affair, boss, wedding, etc.
